Baron Geisler

Actor Baron Geisler was taken into police custody for public drunkenness but was released just hours later on Saturday, February 22.

According to Bombo Radyo Cebu, Mandaue City Police Office Spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Mercy Villaro confirmed that authorities arrested Geisler after receiving reports of him causing a disturbance while intoxicated.

His brothers-in-law allegedly tipped off the police when he started throwing things around their house. However, Villaro clarified that no one was injured in the incident.

The actor was released after settling a ₱500 penalty for violating Mandaue City Ordinance 11-2008-434, which penalizes public drunkenness or severe intoxication.

Baron Speaks Out on the Incident

Geisler, 42, has openly discussed his ongoing struggle with alcoholism and sobriety in previous interviews. In a conversation with Philstar.com, he admitted that while he still faces challenges, he always returns to his family, faith, and purpose to stay on track.

Days after the incident, things seemed back to normal as his wife, Jamie Marie Evangelista, shared an Instagram Story on Monday, February 24, showing him at a script reading for an upcoming film with Frasco Mortiz and Beauty Gonzalez.

Geisler later addressed the issue on social media, denying exaggerated reports about the incident.

“A lot of misinformation has been circulating. Irresponsible journalism has blown things out of proportion, creating unnecessary confusion. I want to make it clear — I’m okay, and I’m seeking legal advice to address this properly. To those who continue to stand by me, thank you. Your support means everything,” he wrote.

Baron’s Ongoing Career

Despite the controversy, Geisler remains active in the entertainment industry. He currently stars as Miguel in the action series Incognito, alongside Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings, Daniel Padilla, Kaila Estrada, Richard Gutierrez, and Ian Veneracion.

He also gained praise for his performance in the 2022 Netflix hit “Doll House.”

Geisler married Jamie Marie Evangelista in 2019, and they have since been vocal about their journey together as a family.
