Kris Aquino Speaks on Breakup: ‘He Didn’t Love Me’
As Kris Aquino continues to battle multiple autoimmune diseases, she now faces another challenge—a broken heart.
Just six months after revealing her relationship with Dr. Mike Padlan, the Queen of All Media confirmed that they have gone their separate ways. In an emotional Instagram post on Sunday, Aquino shared that the relationship ended because Padlan did not love her and sought freedom from the demands of her medical condition.
“He Did Not Love Me”
“I choose to share MY PAINFUL TRUTH,” Aquino wrote. “The doctor I loved left me because he wanted the freedom to travel, to break free from needing to care for and the reality of KRIS AQUINO who had multiplying autoimmune diseases with so few treatment options.”
She added that despite their relationship, Padlan was compensated professionally for his medical services. “End of that chapter. Never akong natakot umamin ng katotohanan (I was never afraid to reveal the truth),” she said.
Aquino further disclosed Padlan’s parting words:
“Iniwan kita dahil mahirap kang mahalin. Sobrang sikip ng paligid.”
(“I left you because you’re hard to love. I felt so constricted.”)
She also expressed hope that he would stop speaking negatively about her best friends and doctors who continue to support her.
Health Update: Fighting Through the Pain
Amid her heartbreak, Aquino remains focused on her health battle and her youngest son, Bimby, who has been a pillar of strength.
She shared heartbreaking photos of Bimby carrying her to the bathroom, revealing that she now weighs less than 80 lbs (36 kg) and experiences severe pain with every step.
“Bimb is now doing MMA training, and I cannot walk—each step is agony,” she wrote. “The excruciating pain is from my knees all the way to my feet, a combination of deep bone pain, lupus arthritis, polymyositis, and acute fibromyalgia.”
Despite these struggles, Aquino remains determined to fight for her recovery.
Faith and Love Keep Her Going
“I decided to post my current reality because I want to give HOPE,” she explained. “When you are unconditionally loved, when like me you are blessed with a son who will do all to lessen his mama’s physical and emotional suffering—HINDI KA SUSUKO (you won’t give up).”
She emphasized that faith in God and true love—especially from her children—give her the strength to endure her condition.
“Life is difficult for all of us—but faith in God and REAL love proven by ACTION gives ALL the willpower needed to persevere. Thank you, God. Thank you TO ALL for your continued prayers for my healing. And to my ‘northern star’—Bimb, for being much more than your mama deserves.”
As of this writing, Padlan has yet to respond to Aquino’s statements.

Aquino’s romance with Padlan, a general surgeon at Makati Medical Center, first gained public attention in September 2024, when she was seen sitting next to a mysterious man on a flight. His identity was later revealed, and their relationship became a widely discussed topic.
