Manila International Film Festival Honors Hello, Love, Again, MMFF Stars, and Industry Icons
The Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) honored “Hello, Love, Again,” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, with the Box Office Hit Award at the 2025 Gala and Awards Night, held at the historic Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
ABS-CBN Films Head Kriz Gazmen and GMA Pictures President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes received the prestigious award on behalf of the production teams.
A sequel to the 2019 blockbuster “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” the film has made history as the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, surpassing ₱1.6 billion in total earnings.
Lifetime Achievement and Special Awards
The MIFF also recognized four icons of Philippine cinema with Lifetime Achievement Awards:
- The late Mother Lily Monteverde, legendary producer and founder of Regal Entertainment
- Veteran actress Boots Anson Roa
- Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos
- Filipino-American actress Tia Carrere, known for her work in Hollywood
A Special Trailblazer Award was also given to:
- Filipino-American actor Nico Santos, for his contributions to mainstream Hollywood
- The Basco Brothers’ film “The Debut”, in recognition of its cultural impact on Filipino-American cinema
Fan Choice Awards
Audiences who attended the MIFF screenings at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood voted for their favorites, with the following winners:
- Best Picture: Songs of the Firefly
- Best Actress: Morisette (Songs of the Firefly)
- Best Actor: Seth Fedelin (My Future You)
- Best Supporting Actress: Rachel Alejandro (Songs of the Firefly)
- Best Supporting Actor: Noel Comia Jr. (Songs of the Firefly)
Honoring Filipino-American Firefighters
The festival also paid tribute to Filipino-American firefighters of the Los Angeles Fire Department, who played a critical role in battling the LA wildfires in January.
The 2025 MIFF continues to be a platform for celebrating Filipino talent on the global stage, bringing local cinema to Hollywood audiences and beyond.
