PangaSINE Film Festival Calls for Entries for Second Edition

The PangaSINE Film Festival is back for its second edition, inviting Filipino filmmakers to submit their narrative and documentary films for this year’s competition.

With the theme “Our Hopes and Dreams Across the Regions,” the festival aims to showcase stories that reflect the aspirations of Filipinos from different parts of the country.

Submission Guidelines

  • Films must have a maximum runtime of 15 minutes.
  • Dialogues can be in any language, but English subtitles are required if the film is not in English.
  • Entries must be original and comply with copyright laws.

Selection Process

From the submissions, only 10 films will be shortlisted. The selected filmmakers will be required to submit a high-resolution copy of their film, trailer, poster, and other promotional materials.

Filmmakers whose works make the shortlist will receive an official notification via email on March 28.

A Platform for Local Filmmakers

Founded by Pangasinan First Lady Maan Tuazon Guico, PangaSINE was launched on April 6, 2024, as part of a broader effort to establish Pangasinan as a hub for Filipino cinema.

Beyond the competition, the festival also offers filmmaking workshops to nurture local talent. Last year, over 100 aspiring filmmakers from various towns participated in a three-day workshop led by renowned industry professionals.

Notable figures such as National Artist for Film Kidlat Tahimik, Baby Ruth Villarama, Zig Dulay, Moira Lang, and others lent their expertise to the inaugural event.

‘Sine by the Sea’ Showcase

The festival also features ‘Sine by the Sea’, an exhibition of Pangasinense-made films screened at the Capitol Beachfront, which served as the grand finale of last year’s edition.

With its second run, PangaSINE continues to serve as a platform for regional voices, encouraging Filipino filmmakers to bring their stories to the big screen.
