Celebrity couple Troy Montero and Aubrey Miles have been open about their daughter Rocket’s autism diagnosis. Recently, Montero shared a heartfelt update on her progress, expressing his joy over the strides she has made through therapy and treatment, including stem cell therapy.

“This little girl, my one and only daughter,” Montero began in his appreciation post. “She is an absolute sweetheart and Daddy’s girl. When she was younger, she was non-verbal, made no eye contact, flapped her hands, walked on her tiptoes, lined up her toys, and occasionally had tantrums on the floor.”

Rocket’s Progress Through Therapy

Rocket was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at three years old. A month later, she began speech and occupational therapy. She has also undergone stem cell therapy, with her most recent session just last week.

According to the Mayo Clinic, stem cell therapy is a medical treatment that uses specialized cells in the body to repair or regenerate damaged tissues. In the case of autism, it is still considered experimental and is being studied for its potential to improve symptoms or brain function.

Despite this, Montero shared how Rocket has shown remarkable progress, particularly in her communication and self-awareness.

“After her first session, we noticed a big change. She began making eye contact and speaking more. Today, I wouldn’t consider her non-verbal, though her casual conversations are mostly two- to three-word sentences. The best sound? Hearing her say, ‘I love you,’” he shared.

A Beautiful Transformation

One of the most touching changes, Montero said, is Rocket’s growing self-awareness.

“She now expresses emotions more clearly, has a sense of humor, and even a mischievous side. She looks at her reflection in the mirror, something she never did before.”

Rocket also continues to be consistent with her speech and occupational therapy sessions, and her progress extends beyond their home.

“Rocket is now six years old and attends school with five to six classmates. Her teacher recently shared that she has become a class leader, helping her classmates with their activities,” Montero proudly shared.

A Star in Their Family

As the youngest in their family of five, Rocket holds a special place in their hearts.

“She is undoubtedly the star of our home. We love her endlessly and will always be here to support her,” he concluded.

Montero and Miles, who tied the knot in 2022 after 18 years together, are also parents to Hunter, while Miles has another son, Maurice, from a previous relationship.

Their journey serves as an inspiring story of love, patience, and unwavering support for parents of children with autism.
